Inconel 800 Buttweld Fittings: The Next Level of Industrial Work Flow Perfection

 Inconel 800 Buttweld Fittings

The Inconel 800 alloy series was invented by Special Metals Corporation Group Of Companies. The alloy was created to sustain those industrial environments that have high corrosive and oxidizing environments. The alloy offers unique carburization, corrosion resistance and other benefits and even extreme temperatures. The newest of all alloys has set the perfection standards for equipment used in industrial processes and shows better rupture and creep properties. Titanium and Aluminum were used in manufacturing and were listed as purposeful additions for the first time in the year 1963 by the corporation.

Chemical composition of the fittings

The Inconel 800 Buttweld fittings are made using Inconel alloy that has high amounts of chromium which brings to the fittings heat and aqueous corrosion resistance. The fittings also contain iron and hence offer better resistance to internal and external oxidation. Because of the nickel content, the alloy is highly ductile and can be molded easily in fittings form without compromising with its corrosion resistance. Hence, the fittings can be readily formed and welded. The alloy can also be easily molded into other machinic forms.

Applications

Inconel 800 buttweld fittings hence have the unique corrosion resistance, creep resistance, rupture resistance and oxidation resistance properties of Inconel 800 Buttweld fittings alloy apart from having the light weight designing of the buttweld series fittings. The alloy is applied to tube and fittings of the petrochemical industry, in nuclear energy plants, in elements for electrical heating in the headers and pigtails and in other areas.  The fittings offer qualities like resistance to heat, better strength and service stability up to a temperature of 1500 degree Fahrenheit. When the alloy’s temperature is increased, then it offers more resistance to corrosion and undergoes sulfidation and carburization. At high temperatures, the pipe, tubes and fittings of the alloy also gain creep and rupture strength.
